AEROSMITH: Back in the Saddle for the Last Time

By Jim Cartwright May 1, 2023 | 11:23 AM

Aerosmith are indeed saying goodbye to the road with the announcement of their 40-date Peace Out farewell tour, their first U.S. outing in eight years.

In a joint statement, they say, “It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT! Get ready and walk this way. You’re going to get the best show of our lives.”

It starts on September 2nd in Philadelphia with arena dates scheduled through January 26th in Montreal. The Black Crowes will open.

The band also produced a two-minute video announcing the tour, which is based around “Breaking News” reports and numerous people asking if they heard the news and if it’s true. It features cameos from Ringo StarrDolly PartonSlashEminemKelly Clarkson, actor and former NFL player Terry Crews, and comedian Bill Burr. And at the end, the band confirm the news.

As we’ve reported, drummer Joey Kramer will not join them, with the band saying, “While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”

He will be replaced by his tech, John Douglas, who has sat in for him on numerous occasions, including last year during their Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.com.
