LYNYRD SKYNYRD: CMT Music Awards Tribute

Billy GibbonsChuck Leavell, Paul Rodgers, Slash and Warren Haynes were among those who paid tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd and their guitarist Gary Rossington, who died last month, on Sunday’s CMT Music Awards on CBS.

Also on the stage were country stars Cody JohnsonLeAnn Rimes and Wynonna Judd as they ran through “Simple Man” and “Sweet Home Alabama.”

In the audience taking it all in were Skynyrd members Johnny Van Zant and Rickey Medlocke, along with Rossington’s widow, Dale Krantz Rossington and the late Ronnie Van Zant’s widow Judy.

There was also a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan from Gary Clark, Jr., who did Vaughan’s “The House Is Rockin’.”

And The Black Crowes teamed with Darius Rucker for a version of the Crowes’ “She Talks to Angels,” and Wynonna and Ashley McBryde covered of Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
