KEARNEY — Kearney High School has been named the Class A leader in the 2024–2025 Nebraska State Colleges Multi-Activity Student Award program, a statewide recognition presented by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) and the Nebraska State College System (NSCS).
This prestigious honor celebrates high school students who are involved in at least three NSAA-sanctioned activities during the academic year. Over 15,000 students across Nebraska were recognized for their well-rounded commitment to school involvement, and Kearney High rose to the top among Class A schools for its outstanding percentage and enrollment of multi-activity student participants.
“Once again, our student athletes and NSAA activity participants at Kearney High never cease to amaze me. I cannot express how proud we are to have an entire school filled with student athletes/participants who exemplify what it means to be active, engaged, and committed to their school community,” said Ryan Hogue, KPS Activities Director and Assistant Principal of Kearney High School. “The tradition of embracing, promoting, and backing up our multi-sport/activity participants goes back decades and has played a huge role in the success of our programs. We call this “The Kearney Way” and we plan to continue it for years to come. This award is a testament not only to our students’ dedication but also to the support and encouragement they receive from our coaches, sponsors, teachers, families, and patrons of this great community.”
Kearney High School will be presented with a banner during the NSAA State Soccer Championships in May to commemorate this achievement.
The NSAA and NSCS aim to encourage student involvement in multiple co-curricular activities, promoting balance, leadership, and school pride. Participation data was collected from student eligibility lists submitted by schools throughout the year.
