Pearl Jam have cancelled music concerts scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in Berlin due to illness of some of the band members.
“Despite everyone’s best efforts, the band has yet to make a full recovery,” Pearl Jam said in a statement.
The band added, “The impacts of this decision are not lost on us. We feel deeply that so many people spend their time, money, and emotional energy to get tickets and then to come see the band and it is heart wrenching to have to disappoint you. We also appreciate the many people whose hard work goes into making these shows happen.”
Promising to try everything possible to show up for the fans, the rock band said it would reschedule this tour leg if possible and “hope to come back to Berlin soon.”
Tickets for the canceled dates will be refunded at the point of purchase.
The band’s illness had already forced them to call off a show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London last week.
After the cancellation, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Eddie Vedder, Matt Cameron and Boom Gaspar‘s next scheduled performance is set for July 6 in Barcelona.
