Camera Doctor owner charged with sexual assault of a child

MINDEN — A Kearney business owner has been charged with sexual assault of a child and felony child abuse.

Alan Mais, 60, of Heartwell has been charged in Kearney County with nine counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child, each a Class 3A felony and intentional child abuse – no injury, a Class 3A felony.

Mais has been scheduled to appear in Kearney County Court before Judge Timothy Hoeft for arraignment, which has been set for Nov. 16 at 11 a.m.

Mais is listed as the owner of The Camera Doctor in Kearney.

The court documents detailing the charges were ordered sealed, but the complaint says the alleged charges occurred between July 1 and Nov. 13. An arrest warrant for Mais was issued on Nov. 14.

Mais’ bail has been set for 10 percent of $300,000.
