Man with Dawson County warrant located in Grand Island, meth found in vehicle

GRAND ISLAND — A man with an active Dawson County warrant was located in Grand Island and a search of his vehicle led to the discovery of methamphetamine on Thursday, March 20.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, Luis Garcia, Jr., was located in the parking lot of the Island Inn Motel on S. Locust St.

Garcia, Jr., was determined to have an active and confirmed warrant in Dawson County for his arrest.

During a probable cause search of his vehicle, officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Garcia, Jr., was booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections for possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and the Dawson County warrant for theft by shoplifting.
