After falling to the San Diego Mojo in their first meeting for the season, the 7-3 Omaha Supernovas defeated the 3-7 Mojo Sunday in front of a record 12,768 fans at the CHI Health Center (25-21, 25-19, 25-18).

The win was the fifth sweep of the season, which leads the league, and Head Coach Laura “Bird” Kuhn picked up her 100th career win as Head Coach (100-70 overall between Omaha and Texas A&M, 24-10 with the Supernovas).

After keeping the first few points close, the Supernovas were able to create some separation with a balanced attack in the first set, with Emily Londot, Reagan Cooper, and Brooke Nuneviller each having 4 kills in the set. Omaha was able to create some seperation the rest of the set, leading by 5 points the rest of the way. The Supernovas would hit .275 on the set to San Diego’s .212.

The second and third sets had identical hot starts for Omaha, with the Supernovas scoring 8 of the first 11 points in the second set, and 8 of the first 10 points in the third set. The Mojo were unable to hit above .200 in either set, while committing eight attack errors.

Omaha was led by Cooper with 10 kills in the match, hitting .444, while Londot added 7 kills. Nuneviller stuffed her stat line, with 9 kills hitting .409, a service ace, and adding 11 digs.

San Diego was led by Kayla Lund with 10 kills and Maya Tabron with 9 kills.

The Supernovas won their third straight match, while they handed the Mojo their fifth straight loss. The two teams will meet Thursday at San Diego’s Vejas Arena for a 7PM tilt.
