The Kearney Rescue Cats will be hosting their annual Big Shoe Collection this weekend.
This Saturday June 10, KRC will be taking gently worn used shoes at Family Fresh and the south Pump & Pantry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
People can bring any kinds of shoes, ranging from flip-flops to boots in kids and adults sizes.
Shoes are then taken by a recycle company that reconditions shoes to be taken to third-world countries.
For one hundred bags of shoes, KRC receives $1000 dollars, which goes toward paying for treatment and care of cats.
People can continue to donate used shoes year-round by taking them to drop-off locations at the Kearney Area Animal Shelter, West Villa Animal Hospital, Riverside Animal Hospital, and Chuggs.
