Community members have an opportunity to participate in a Child Mental Health First Aid Training class and a Trauma 101 training.
The Child Mental Health First Aid Training will be held Saturday, October 29 at from 9:00am-4:00pm in the Ockinga Conferance room at UNK.
Participates of the Mental Health First Aid Training will learn how to:
- Recognize and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders
- Learn skills needed to reach out to help and provide support
- The class offers a 3-year Certification of Completion

The second class, Trauma 101, will be offered Monday, November 7 from 5:30pm-8:30pm and be held in UNK Copeland Hall, Room #142.
Participates of Trauma 101 training will learn:
- How to define trauma and trauma informed care
- Describe the effects of trauma on children and adults
- How to create a safe environment for persons served and more.
