Creedence Clearwater Revival are the subject of a documentary concert feature film that’s in production.
Narrated by actor Jeff Bridges, Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall is directed by Bob Smeaton, who did The Beatles Anthology and Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsies.
Featuring unseen footage, including the concert, the film documents the band’s story up through the spring of 1970 when they were challenging The Beatles for the title of the top-selling act in the world.
Only days after the breakup of The Beatles, the concert would be one of the defining shows of their career. The concert was filmed, but never fully released until now.
The film also includes previously unreleased 16mm footage of fly-on-the-wall band intereactions and interviews, plus what is believed to be the earliest known footage of Creedence performing live.
No word on when the film will be released.
