Legendary Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson has released two instrumental solo tracks, titled “Kabul Blues” and “Spy House,” which mark his first new music since 2012.

Fellow Canadians bassist Andy Curran and drummer David Quinton Steinberg joins Lifeson on both songs. Both the songs can be viewed in full on Lifeson’s website.

The songs were released to promote the launch of the the Alex Lifeson Epiphone Les Paul Standard Axcess electric guitar, in partnership with guitar brand Epiphone.

Lifeson has played the Gibson Les Pauls guitar almost exclusively for the past 10 years.

He hasn’t released any music since the 2012 Rush album Clockwork Angels. The band didn’t perform any music after their 40th-anniversary tour in 2015.
